I am using a broadband ADSL 256 Kbps. I'm getting a download speed of 16-18 kbit / s and it really sucks! Is there a way to increase download speeds, or is there a way to hack it?

Well, the speeds are not the same as the speed of your broadband package. the speed of my ADSL 1024kb / s, but I download around 100kb / s. I sometimes up to 800kb / s, but is very rare.
Check with your service provider broadband provider if they have packages with higher speeds, or try one of the download accelerator. Just go to www.download.com and download accelerator. Which should return some results.
I'm not sure if a download accelerator will help, but you can try.
Update your service. They are probably what they pay.
